Life is busy, am I right? Most moms today are overscheduled, overworked, or just plain exhausted, which is why kids holiday learning activities can help fill those learning gaps. This often leaves the working mother feeling like she’s shortchanging her kids—is she giving them the tools they need to succeed in the years ahead, stimulating them enough, and giving them the socialization they need?

The list of worries can go on and on. In the last year, I’ve discovered a fantastic busy mom time management tip that has helped me provide and prepare my kids for all sorts of possibilities in their futures through kids holiday learning activities. Ready for the tip? Find your kids some great online classes!

    Crafts, Social Skills, Art

Finding good online classes might feel like finding a needle in a haystack. However, several platforms make the process easier.

These sites let parents search by subject, age, price, and class format. They also include reviews from other parents, which helps busy mums save time.

For example, you can look for drawing classes, drama lessons, writing workshops, or social skills groups. This makes kids holiday learning activities easier to plan at home.

    Outschool

Outschool gave me my most recent experience with online learning for my kids. I signed up my teen daughter for a social skills class.

I could choose from many class options. Also, I could read reviews from other parents before booking.

The teacher I chose offered several class times. She also had a short pre-recorded greeting, so parents and students could get a feel for her style before the class began.

That small detail made the class feel less awkward. It also helped my daughter feel more comfortable before joining.

Parents can use the search bar to find drama, music, drawing, writing, and academic classes. Most classes also cover different age groups.

Once you choose a class, you create an account and pay for the programme. The process feels simple, which matters when you already have a full plate.

    uDemy

Udemy is another online learning platform I explored in the last year. I used it to find academic support.

The site has many English, language, and maths tutors. I found a creative writing course that worked for different ages.

The class I chose had four pre-recorded lessons. Each video also came with a printable worksheet.

Because of that, my daughter could watch, write, and practise at her own pace. The lessons felt simple but useful.

Like Outschool, Udemy offers many learning options. However, the price can differ from course to course.

Outschool often feels more budget-friendly for regular classes. Meanwhile, Udemy can offer more polished courses in some subjects.

Still, both platforms can help parents find the right fit. It depends on your budget, your child’s age, and the kind of lesson you want.

    Summer Camps, Music, Charity

Get your kids involved in hands-on learning. Summer camps, in-person music lessons, and charitable clubs are all great ways to broaden your child’s horizons. These activities let their brains work in different ways than the usual paper and pencil type of activity.

Get them to read! They don’t have to read a novel a day to keep their brains busy. Let them explore with graphic novels (comic books), magazines, and other types of reading material to find what they like best. Download educational apps. Lots of fun, educational games exist which parents can download in app form. Make sure you read reviews to evaluate the educational content being presented. And here’s a tip: Don’t forget to download the free KFV app for yourself!

No matter what type of educational instruction you’re looking for, Momkidfriendly.com —a mom to mom blog—is here to help. Make sure you check out our other educational blog content to get great ideas for your kids!
